Expansion of Cognizant and Google Cloud Partnership
Cognizant and Google Cloud unveiled an extension of their collaboration aimed at advancing the integration of agentic AI. A pivotal component of this partnership is the launch of the Gemini Frontier Capability Group.
This newly established group amalgamates a specialized global workforce, synergizing Google’s comprehensive, enterprise-ready AI platform with Cognizant’s astute understanding of domain expertise, industry nuances, and engineering acumen as an AI architect, as articulated in a recent press release.
Bolstered by over 18,000 dedicated Cognizant professionals, this initiative exemplifies a significant collaborative investment, building on the momentum generated by Cognizant’s previously established Gemini practice, inaugurated in April 2026.
The objective of this group is to streamline the transition from pilot projects to full-scale production, empowering enterprises to deploy resilient, enterprise-grade agents capable of delivering measurable business benefits, the release indicates.
“The formation of the Gemini Frontier Capability Group allows our premier frontier engineering talent to concentrate exclusively on bringing frontier AI solutions to fruition for our clients,” asserted Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant.
Moreover, the ‘Build with Gemini’ workshop provided over 55,000 associates with hands-on experience, imparting them with essential skills related to the advanced AI platform.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, emphasized the necessity of trusted partnerships equipped with profound architectural and integration expertise for large-scale AI agent deployment.
He remarked, “Cognizant’s dedicated Frontier Capability Group and their skilling initiative for tens of thousands of engineers on Gemini will aid our mutual clients in accelerating the incorporation of autonomous agents within their enterprises.”
In response to rising demands for extensive AI functionality, the ‘Gemini Frontier Capability Group’ is poised to offer production-ready AI solutions tailored to enhance business performance for global enterprises by harnessing Gemini, Google Cloud’s robust platform for creating, governing, and deploying agents.
The group’s initial focus will encompass engineering capabilities in areas such as legacy modernization, developer engagement, autonomous business process automation, and advanced cyber defense measures.
To operationalize these capabilities, the group is set to implement standardized, security-centric agentic architectures, underpinned by the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and reinforced by Google Cloud’s Model Armor.
Furthermore, Cognizant is also leveraging Gemini internally on a vast scale, as highlighted in the release.

In July, the firm declared its intention to deploy Gemini across 100,000 associates this year, with ambitions to expand that number to 200,000, while also escalating its certification endeavors for professionals entrenched in the platform.
