Intel appears poised to resurrect its Raptor Lake architecture once more, this time under the Core 2000HX designation.
According to renowned leaker Golden Pig Upgrade, the upcoming Raptor Lake Next processors will cater to HX-category laptops, while Intel’s forthcoming Nova Lake-HX chips are anticipated to adopt the Core Ultra 4000-series branding.
Intel is rumored to be orchestrating yet another iteration of its Raptor Lake architecture, now identified as the Core 2000HX series.
Esteemed leaker Golden Pig Upgrade on Weibo asserts that the forthcoming Raptor Lake Next processors are intended for high-performance laptops.
At this juncture, the leak affirms only the family-level branding, leaving specific model distinctions yet to be revealed. It remains uncertain whether Intel will opt for nomenclature such as Core 9 2xxxHX and Core 7 2xxxHX.
Notably, the absence of Ultra branding suggests a deliberate effort to differentiate these chips from the existing Core 200H series and the Arrow Lake-inspired Core Ultra 200HX line.
This information follows claims by another prolific Intel leaker, Jaykihn, that Intel is actively developing a mobile variant solely for the HX segment.
The projected lineup encompasses three distinct SKUs: a Core 9 processor featuring 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, a Core 7 with 8 P-cores and 12 E-cores, and another iteration of Core 7 composed of 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores.
This configuration would yield a cumulative total of 24 cores for the flagship model, effectively enhancing its capabilities relative to the Core i9-14900H.
The Core 2000HX series is expected to coexist alongside newer Nova Lake-based silicon. An earlier leak suggested that Intel intends to transition to a four-digit nomenclature for both desktop and laptop SKUs within the Nova Lake framework, adopting the Core Ultra 4xxx branding.
Consequently, Raptor Lake Next is shaping up to be a cost-effective option for gaming laptops, perpetuating Intel’s established practice of prolonging the lifecycle of laptop architectures.

A noteworthy advantage of Raptor Lake is its potential to mitigate gaming laptop expenses by utilizing relatively affordable DDR4 RAM, in contrast to Nova Lake’s DDR5 requirement.
