Simultaneously, a long-press action on a message or image introduces a floating menu, thereby blurring the background rather than showcasing a top toolbar.
This design minimizes visual clutter and concentrates users’ attention on the available options. A noteworthy new feature allows users to copy only selected portions of text, addressing a long-awaited request for more precise text selection capabilities.
To enhance user engagement, Google Messages has initiated an official chat channel for feature updates.
This dedicated line of communication ensures that users stay abreast of new functionalities as they are introduced, eliminating the need to sift through interminable support articles or await announcements in other forums.
Notifications about forthcoming improvements and guidance on utilizing new features effectively will be disseminated directly within the app.
Customization has received a remarkable boost with the introduction of Chat Themes. This new functionality replaces the former “Change Colors” option from 2024.

Alongside these new features, earlier enhancements are being extended to broader audiences. Features such as voice message recording, enhanced with noise cancellation and Voice Moods to convey emotional tone, RCS message editing, AI-aided Magic Compose for crafting replies, Photomoji for creating emoji from selfies, as well as customizable bubbles and backgrounds, empower users to personalize their messaging experience more profoundly.
