On September 9, the technology giant introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Additionally, the anticipation builds around the forthcoming iPhone Duo, a foldable device expected to launch later this year.
The Pro models feature an innovative variable aperture camera designed for advanced photography and an upgraded Siri experience. Notably, the iPhone Duo, characterized by its compact 5.4-inch size, opens up to a substantial 7.6-inch display.
While Apple has disclosed the prices of its devices, discrepancies exist across different regions.
PhilSTAR L!fe has examined the pricing structures listed on Apple’s official websites in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines to provide a comparative analysis of the new iPhone prices.
iPhone 18 Pro
The iPhone 18 Pro (256GB) retails for US$1,199 in the United States, while in Hong Kong, it is priced at HK$10,499, S$1,899 in Singapore, and P94,990 in the Philippines.
iPhone 18 Pro Max
For those considering the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max, the 256GB variant begins at US$1,299 in the U.S. In other markets, it is listed at HK$11,499 in Hong Kong, S$2,099 in Singapore, and P99,990 in the Philippines.
iPhone Duo
Apple’s inaugural foldable device, the iPhone Duo, enters the market at US$1,999 in the United States. In terms of pricing for the 256GB version, it is HK$17,499 in Hong Kong, S$3,099 in Singapore, and P159,990 in the Philippines.
The Duo will also be available in configurations of 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
It is essential to note that prices listed in the U.S. do not include state-specific sales tax, which can alter the final cost.
Moreover, fluctuations in exchange rates may impact the peso equivalent, while additional expenses related to travel, warranties, and regional specifications could inflate the total expenditure, indicating that a lower price tag abroad does not necessarily translate into savings.
This comparison by L!fe utilized the prices established on Apple’s official online stores across various markets, intentionally excluding travel costs, taxes, and payment processing fees.
Where Can You Find the Best Deals?
Among the analyzed markets, the United States offers the most competitive pricing.
The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro amounts to approximately P75,000 in the U.S., which is more affordable than the approximate P83,700 in Hong Kong, P93,900 in Singapore, and P94,990 in the Philippines, based on exchange rates as of September 10.
For the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max, the U.S. price converts to an estimated P81,000, standing in contrast to P91,700 in Hong Kong and P99,990 in the Philippines. Notably, after conversion, the Philippine price is also lower than Singapore’s.
The most pronounced price disparity appears with the iPhone Duo, commencing at approximately P125,000 in the U.S., in stark comparison to P139,500 in Hong Kong, P153,300 in Singapore, and P159,990 in the Philippines.
