HyperDev Secures Over $1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding Amid Rapid User Growth
HyperDev, an innovative AI technology enterprise operating across Europe and South Africa, has successfully garnered more than $1 million in pre-seed funding from an extensive network of venture capital investors hailing from Europe and the UK.
This milestone coincides with the company’s impressive journey toward amassing nearly 100,000 users on its generative AI software development platform.
Falk Albers, Managing Director at Reinsurance Intelligence Quotient (RIQ) and General Partner at Loom Ventures, remarked, “We supported HyperDev due to its unique blend of substantial AI research and development capabilities alongside an embedded distribution network comprising millions of developers.
While many coding tools merely serve as superficial interfaces to third-party large language models, HyperDev is innovating proprietary technology that enables genuine utility in code generation.
This fusion of authentic technological advancement and inherent distribution is exceptionally rare, particularly at the pre-seed stage.
The startup has ingeniously developed an AI feature known as ‘Guided Mode’, which facilitates users in optimizing and effectively employing code generated by large language models, expediting the deployment of functional websites, applications, and various coding solutions.
Furthermore, it empowers non-technical individuals to engage developers for further refinements on AI-generated software.
This innovative solution fundamentally addresses the shortcomings of the initial wave of AI coding tools. These earlier models could generate code effortlessly, yet often failed to produce deployable software accessible to actual users.
HyperDev’s approach has been validated through remarkable growth, with the platform achieving nearly 100,000 users within a mere three months of launch.
Piotr Sobolewski, Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder, stated that the prevailing belief among existing AI coding tools is that code generation represents the most challenging aspect.
We designed HyperDev with the understanding that the formidable challenge lies in the subsequent steps, which remain largely unaddressed by others.
The founding team of HyperDev comprises distinguished professionals, including Piotr Sobolewski—who previously contributed to the groundbreaking technology behind ChatGPT at OpenAI—and Riaz Moola, a former Google employee involved in developing AI methodologies incorporated in tools like Gemini.
Both Riaz and Piotr have also engaged in significant AI research at prestigious universities, focusing on technologies that aid individuals in comprehending and utilizing the outputs generated by expansive AI models.
Kenne Loubser, Chief Marketing Officer at HyperDev, noted, “Given the high user churn rates across AI application builders, user retention has emerged as the most critical metric. Since the introduction of Guided Mode, our retention rate has nearly doubled.”
Anton Moulder, Head of Product, added, “Platforms dominant in this domain were crafted by individuals who presumed developers would leverage AI in the same manner as a select group of well-resourced engineers.
In reality, the vast majority of builders do not possess such a safety net. We developed HyperDev for them, and our growth figures affirm the validity of this approach.”

HyperDev is actively serving users across 14 countries, where they harness Guided AI to create various software applications, encompassing mobile apps, e-commerce platforms, personal websites, fintech solutions, and educational technology tools.
The company also boasts an integration with the HyperionDev edtech platform, providing users with access to university-backed technical education aimed at enhancing their skill sets.
