Anticipating iOS 27: New Features for Apple Wallet
Apple is gearing up to unveil iOS 27 at its WWDC 2026 keynote on Monday, June 8. This upcoming update is expected to introduce two notable enhancements to the Apple Wallet experience.
The first of these features allows users to craft bespoke digital passes by scanning physical items, such as movie tickets, concert entry credentials, and gym membership cards.
While numerous applications already provide Apple Wallet integration, this innovation empowers users to generate personalized passes from any ticket or membership format that traditionally exists in physical form.
Secondly, the update is poised to simplify the process of splitting bills among groups in various social contexts, notably during restaurant outings.
Via the Wallet and Messages applications, individuals who have settled a bill entirely can capture an image of the receipt, allocate specific items to various participants, and subsequently create Apple Cash payment requests to facilitate reimbursement.
It is essential to note that this service is reportedly linked to Apple Cash, which is presently limited to users within the United States, thus potentially excluding international customers from utilizing this feature.
The initial developer beta for iOS 27 is anticipated to be launched shortly after the WWDC 2026 keynote, with a public beta expected to follow in July. The completed update is slated for widespread release to all compatible iPhone users by September.
