Intex Aqua 5.5 VR Smartphone with 2800 mAh Battery – Review

Nothing appeals more than Virtual Reality when it comes to latest technologies in terms of smartphones. The fact has been absorbed best by smartphone manufacturers, the Intex Aqua 5.5 VR is the most recent example of that, it features a 5.5-inch display screen that works pretty well with an Android v6.0 operating system.

1. Design & Display:

It is definitely an in-budget smartphone, the front side of this phone comes with a 5.5-inch screen embedded with three capacitive navigation buttons. Right over this display, there is a 5MP front-facing camera, a proximity sensor, a LED flash, as well as an earpiece.

It has some sizeable bezels that make this smartphone a big shot and also makes it simpler to hold it with both hands when you need to see something in landscape orientation. The plastic back panel can be easily taken off to see 2 SIM card slots, a removable battery, and a microSD card slot. The audio output from the rear speaker is quite loud but gets distorted when higher levels are touched. In crux, Intex Aqua 5.5 VR is completely fine for light usage.

However, when you want to play complicated online games line “Injustice” or work on ten tabs altogether, you may want to switch to some other handset. The camera clicks decent quality images in good lighting, but the images have a good amount of compression artifacts along with digital noise in them. The camera app is rudimentary, but the addition of some color modes makes it sound cool. The battery life is also good as well and will meet your expectations in a better than average manner.

3. Software & VR:

Intext Aqua 5.5 VR comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is quite innovative. Intex has pitched the Aqua 5.5 VR as a cell phone for those intrigued by survey virtual reality content (subsequently the VR in the name).

Curiously, the case that the mobile phone comes in can be made into a Google Cardboard viewer. As one may expect, the VR experience is very fundamental. You can download the Cardboard application and other VR applications/recreations from the Google Play Store for this. It functions admirably for most of the part.

It is an in-budget smartphone and meets most of the expectations. The screen is good; battery backup is awesome, and the VR-compatibility adds the cherry on the top.
