RSTwittie is a Joomla Module works natively in Joomla 1.5.x environment. This is a Joomla extension specially developed for Joomla version 1.5.x. It display your Twitter entries directly on your website and in very neatest way. It is designed for highly frequented websites, so the performance is high. Cache is enabled in this module, all displayed tweets get cached so they show up super fast. A lot of options are available to choose which tweets you want to show, you can also combine the options. You can set a username whose tweets you want to display. You can only show tweets to a user you’re writing to or tweets that contain a certain hash-tag or a specific word. This is a free extension. The features are:

  • Display one single latest tweet or display a list of latest tweets. You can also able to set the maximum number of tweets to display.
  • Display tweets from a user.
  • Display tweets to a user.
  • Display tweets referencing a user.
  • Display tweets containing a hashtag(#).
  • Display tweets containing a word.
  • Option to show/hide author name, image, image size and date.
  • Option to configure the module style from module parameter including border style, background color, padding, margin etc.
  • Cache option for faster loading.

How To Configure and Use the Module (Steps):

  1. Install this Module.
  2. Now go to “Extensions” => “Module Manager”
  3. Edit/Add RS-Twittie Module and publish it after configuring the module using the following steps listed below:
    • Module Class Suffix: A suffix to be applied to the CSS class of the Module. This allows for individual Module styling.
    • Display Style: The RS-Twittie Display Styling. Default value is ‘List’.
    • Number of Tweets: If you choose ‘Display Style = List’ in the previous option then here enter the maximum number of tweets to display. Default value is 5.
    • From a User: Display tweets from a user. Enter the twitter username.
    • To a User: Display tweets to a user. Enter the twitter username.
    • Referencing a User: Display tweets referencing a user. Enter the twitter username.
    • Containing a Hashtag(#): Display tweets containing a hashtag(#). Allowed tag length is up to 16 characters.
    • Containing a Word: Display tweets containing a word. Enter the word.
    • Image of User: Show/Hide the image of the Twitter user. Default value is ‘Show’.
    • User Image Size: Enter the image size of twitter user. Default value is 48.
    • Author Name: Show/Hide author name of the tweets. Default value is ‘Show’.
    • Publish Date: Show/Hide the publish date of the tweets. Default value is ‘Show’.
    • Style Configuration :: GENERAL
      1. Module Border Thickness: Choose the module border thickness.
      2. Module Border Style: Choose the module border style.
      3. Module Border Color: Module Border Color, including # (Example: #CCCCCC).
      4. Module Background Color: Module Background Color, including # (Example: #CCCCCC).
      5. Module Margin: Module Margin in pixel. Default value is 0.
      6. Module Padding: Module Padding in pixel. Default value is 0.
    • Style Configuration :: For ‘ Display Style = List ‘
      1. Row Margin: Margin of every line in the list in pixel. Default value is 0.
      2. Row Padding: Padding of every line in the list in pixel. Default value is 8.
      3. Row Separator Thickness: Choose the row separator thickness.
      4. Row Separator Style: Choose the row separator style.
      5. Row Separator Color: Choose the row separator color, including # (Example: #DCDCDC).
      6. Odd Row Background Color: Odd Row Background Color, including # (Example: #FFFFFF).
      7. Even Row Background Color: Even Row Background Color, including # (Example: #F5F5F5).
    • Advance Style Configuration ::Only change the advance configuration if you know what you are doing. Please do not edit without proper css style knowledge.
      1. Image Display Style: Manage the image display style.
      2. Tweet Text Style: Manage the tweet text style.
      3. Author & Date Row Style: Manage the author & date row style.
      4. Author Text Style: Manage the author text style.
      5. Date Text Style: Manage the date text style.
