- If you notice that the image uploading is not working in your website, that should be the permission issue. To solve this issue just login to your server using FTP account and then change the permission (CHMOD) of “/components/com_rsmonials/images/” folder to “777″ or “755″. Hopefully this will solve the issue.

Unfortunately for me, I’m unable to use this component. The installation works fine, but after, I am unable to post any new testimonials — both “Submit Testimonial” and “Cancel” have no effect when clicked.
On all parts of the component, I continue to have “Strict Standards” errors, and have already disabled display_errors and set error_reporting to E_ALL & ~E_STRICT. The settings are seen effective in Joomla’s PHP Information page.
Any suggestions? Out of *all* testimonials components/modules, I absolutely love the look of yours the best and would appreciate the opportunity to test it out. Thank you so much!

Hi Souvik,
I’m using joomla 1.5 and I want RSMonials Module displays 5 posts. Can you help me?
Thanks
April 2, 2013 at 11:52 AM
RSMonials module is designed so it will display only one testimonial at a time. If you wish to display multiple testimonials then you can use the RSMonials Scroller module.
March 28, 2013 at 4:05 AM
Thanks for the great component!
I am trying to turn off the page heading as I want to replace this with a banner. I have set the page display options in the menu item to exclude the heading and have set the language file parameter to RSM_PAGE_TITLE=”" … and cleared the browser and back-end cache. The previous page title is still showing. Any ideas?
April 2, 2013 at 11:55 AM
May be the page title is added in the Menu Manager section. Please check the parameters of “Menu Item”.
March 27, 2013 at 5:29 PM
Is it possible to turn scrolling off so that I can display a number of testimonials one after the other in the same position?
April 2, 2013 at 11:56 AM
Unfortunately this is not possible currently. Sorry.
March 9, 2013 at 2:25 PM
My website is multi-lingual. Supports Russian and English.
I installed your plug in and its really fabulous. Thanks.
However, it is not supporting Russian language comments. When users try to post comments in Russian, i am seeing Junk in the back end.
Could you please provide me a solution for this?
March 22, 2013 at 12:02 PM
You need to change the collation of the database table so it can store Russian characters. Database table called “#__rsmonials”. Here #__ can be any value. Edit the properties of the table and set the “Collation” properly.
February 28, 2013 at 11:57 PM
Hello?thanks for really good component, but I have problem with russian lang
in testimonials.I corrected lang file and on display all ok,but testimonials has “??????????” Would you mind, what I need to do?
March 1, 2013 at 12:41 AM
You need to change the “Collation” of the database table. Please go to your server’s database manager section and then go to the database where Joomla is installed. Here you can find one database table called “#__rsmonials”. Here #__ can be any value. Then edit that table properties and set the “Collation” properly.
If you are not sure how to do it then please contact our support team: http://www.rswebsols.com/support
February 28, 2013 at 7:58 PM
Hello!
Perfect component! Thank you for the great work!
I would like to ask you how can I manage the mandatory fields. I want another field to be mandatory. How can I do that?
Thank you in advance.
February 28, 2013 at 10:42 PM
Unfortunately it is not possible to change the mandatory fields from admin panel. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
January 24, 2013 at 10:49 PM
Is it possible to have the “view more” link that shows in the module display the remaining text that is hidden when you limit the number of characters?
Sometimes people leave very long reviews and that just looks awfull
January 25, 2013 at 10:42 AM
You can limit the character in the module and set the “View more” so when anyone click on it it will go the main testimonial page to show your all testimonials. Unfortunately the option you are looking for is currently not available.
January 10, 2013 at 2:23 PM

September 14, 2012 at 9:32 PM
If you wish to use the “Module” only, then from admin panel you need to add your testimonials. Then the module will start to display those testimonials in front-end.
September 16, 2012 at 1:16 PM
I did add some testimonial already but i could not see them display. Please help. Thank you. I install the component as well, after that i install the module and did add some testimonials but nothing display in the module in front-end.

September 11, 2012 at 5:18 AM
Excelent, simple design. Realy clever and simple thingie. Thank You!
Was easy to translate and use lang texts while in backend. Nice.
One minor problem only. Was not able to found setting to switch off testimonials creation date display, and later after translating EN to other language, while in testimonial post date`s month still displays english e.i. september instead of septemberinotherlanguage
I know it might be overrided in ext>lang>overrides but quick and dirty change in rsmonials.php helped to be it more international friendly
$dateView = strftime(“%Y-%m-%d”, $timestamp);
But that was minor problem

September 2, 2012 at 10:49 PM
Edit the php.ini file of your server and set “display_errors” to “Off”.
December 12, 2012 at 10:44 PM
I edited to show display_errors Off and still shows this: com_rsmonials/router.php on line 20 error

Please advise
January 24, 2013 at 3:09 AM
show errors brings these errors up so they can be fixed do you have one for this or not
May 13, 2013 at 7:09 PM
I agree, display errors has a purpose. Is there a fix for this or not?
Oh and by the way, setting display errors to off DID NOT solve the issue
September 2, 2012 at 8:32 AM
nice extension. But I have a problem with security code image that can not be seen. But if I use recaptcha all working normally. I prefer the standard captcha code because it is simpler. How do I fix this?
link : http://notjustcsr.com/njc/testimonials
Thanks
September 2, 2012 at 10:48 PM
In your case there should be some permission issue. Please try to set “755″ permission to “/components/com_rsmonials” and “/components/com_rsmonials/includes” folder. Then let us know the status.
August 28, 2012 at 7:08 PM
I love RS Monials but I’m a little confused. It seems like it’s stripping the meta data from the menu item. Only a title is being generated, no keywords, no description. Is that a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
August 28, 2012 at 9:26 PM
No, our component will not add any meta keyword or meta description. If you are using any plugin related to this, that will surely work.
August 28, 2012 at 6:48 AM
Hi,
I have downloaded the component for J2.5.x and below is what I got when accessing the component from backend. Pls advise. Thanks.
( ! ) Strict standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in C:\wamp\www\joomla\administrator\components\com_rsmonials\admin.rssettings.php on line 52
August 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM
Edit the php.ini file of your wamp server and set the following:
error_reporting = E_ALL
display_errors = Off
August 27, 2012 at 11:58 PM
Great product. However, I’d like to add a testimonial on multiple pages but it’s not allowing me to do that?
August 28, 2012 at 10:15 AM
Yes, currently it is not possible. Will surely implement the same in the next version.
August 23, 2012 at 12:26 AM
Hi,
Great component, I just have a few issues.
- The module scroller, doesn’t have any space between the testimonials that scroll. So for example, right below the date field in a testimonial when it begins to scroll up, the text for the next testimonial starts on the line right below the text of the previous one which gives the illusion that the two testimonials are part of the same record until the testimonial stops scrolling to view.
- second, how do you change the text that is displayed in the testimonail? (Date of Post:) I’d like to change that to just Date.
- third, I turned on the rounded corners feature but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve viewing in FF.
thanks.
August 24, 2012 at 11:46 AM
1) Try to increase the height of the scroller a bit. This may solve the issue.
2) Go to “Joomla Admin Panel” => “Components” => “RSMonials” => “Language File”. Then edit the respective language file as per your needs.
3) For this you need to provide us the URL of your website so we can review it.
August 15, 2012 at 4:03 PM
I have a problem in the module RS-Monials Module. how to add multiple ID’s to Testimonial ID(s) tab in the Admin. I normally used 1,2… likewise but it shows only one Testimonial. Please I need quick help
August 16, 2012 at 9:58 AM
The module will display one single testimonial at a time. But it will display all of your specified testimonials serially or randomly one after one after each page refresh.
If you need to display more than one testimonial at a time then use “RSMonials Scroller” module.
August 13, 2012 at 2:18 AM
Hi,
I love the concept of the extension and it is really funny that I am just now finding it. It is highly configurable and that is great too.
I do not see a way to categorize testimonials. There are many situations where it would be nice to separate testimonials by products, offices, people, etc.
Are you willing to customize if for us? For general release? Please consider it.
Steve
August 16, 2012 at 9:55 AM
We are already developing the next version where we are implementing categorization option. Will release it soon.
August 11, 2012 at 4:49 PM

Hi
This is my first joomla site. I love the rsmonials component, but have one issue. On the pages where I have the rsmonials and scroller modules disabled, I get the following error message appear on my site: undefined index: page in /var/www/vhosts/alisontrafford.com/httpdocs/components/com_rsmonials/router.php on line 20 Just wondered what I have done wrong or need to do?
thank you
Alison
August 3, 2012 at 3:46 PM
Edit your server’s configuration file (i.e. php.ini file) and set “display_errors” to “Off”. Joomla also recommends this settings.
October 1, 2012 at 5:05 AM
I’ve made “display_errors” Off but its still appearing as before.
I’ve also tried to add another php.ini file to “components” folder and “com_rsmonials” folder.
How do you think we can solve this?
October 1, 2012 at 10:51 AM
As problem varies from server to server, please contact our support team and they will further help you to solve your problem. http://www.rswebsols.com/support
March 15, 2013 at 3:30 PM
As one of the possible solutions
20 if (!isset($query['page']) > 0) {
21 if(!isset($query['page']) == ’1′) {
April 22, 2013 at 5:05 AM
This solution works for me! Thanks!
August 2, 2012 at 8:12 PM

August 2, 2012 at 12:31 PM
thanks a lot
excellent module!
July 14, 2012 at 8:18 AM
Hi! First off, I would like to congratulate you for a really great product! RSMonials surely covers almost everything I need for a testimonial! Congratulations to the developer. I only have one issue though. As I mentioned earlier, RSMonials covers ‘almost’ everything I need. I think what is missing is for the testimonial to be ‘responsive’, that is, to be perfectly viewable on smartphones and iDevices. I tested the RSMonials I installed on http://mattkersley.com/responsive/ and found that the component overlaps the RSMonials module. The component also is not able to display the testimonial message if viewed in a smartphone or an iphone. I hope RSMonials developers would do something about this since the future of the web is leaning towards responsive websites and pretty soon, it may become the ‘web standard’. To see what I mean please try viewing http://www.rswebsols.com/demo/rsmonials at the field provided at http://mattkersley.com/responsive/ or any responsive website testing URLs and you will surely see what I mean. I really do hope you can do something about this. Thank you very much for reading through my post.
Regards,
Janmeir
July 17, 2012 at 12:34 PM
Thanks for your suggestion. We will surely try to implement the same in our next version.

Yes, you need to just uninstall the old one and install the new one. You will not loose any testimonials. But the component settings will lost. You need to make the changes in the settings manually again.
June 25, 2012 at 12:47 AM

Better way is to use “RSMonials Scroller” module. Otherwise you can try to place 3 “RSMonials Module” one after another.

great extention and easily configurable…
June 7, 2012 at 11:54 PM

here is my question. Can this extension publish, for example, the 5 most recent testimonials in the homepage too or do I need an extra module to do that?
Kind regards

Just download and install the “RSMonials Scroller Module”. Using this you can display testimonials in home page in any module position. You can see the demo here: http://www.rswebsols.com/demo/rsmonials

Love the Testimonials Module. The only thing is that it doesn’t scroll horizontally. Would be possible in the future to add this capability?
Great solution.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I have just installed RS-Monial Component and RS-MonialScroller module on my website. Both of these are great extensions and I was up and running in less than five minutes. However, I am facing one issue with RS-MonialScroller module. It displays “undefined” below the testimonial I have received from my clients. Please guide me to solve this issue.
Thanks,

Hi Sanjeev,
As the scroller module is designed to display more than one testimonials, just add more than one testimonials and the module will work perfectly.
Thanks,

Just view your website. It seems the testimonials page is working properly. Did you already solved it?

I’m trying to change the background color and font style in the testimonials. I have made the obvious changes in the “component” section… but nothing shows up on the front page. Any ideas?
