    • Souvik Banerjee Says:

      To change the text color of “RSMonials Scroller Module” to “WHITE” you need to add the following css code in your template’s css file:

      div.rsmsc_scroller_class { color: #FFFFFF !important; }

      Note: Here #FFFFFF represents white color. If you wish you can change it to any other color.

    Hi. I’ve installed RSMonials 2.2 in my site, but there is a problem, the link “Read more” or “leer más” doesn’t work. It directs me to the home page. How can I configure this?

    Reply

    • Souvik Banerjee Says:

      Just go to “Joomla Admin” => “Extensions” => “Module Manager”. Then edit the module “RSMonials Scroller”. In the module parameter you can find one option called ” ‘View More’ URL “. Here you can set the link as per your needs.

    I love this component. It works great for simple text testimonials. However, it would be great to add support for video testimonials. Is it something that can be done? Most clients record short video clips for testimonials.

    At current version of RSMonials Scrolling Module I couldn’t find how to add quotes for testimonials. How to add them? I think it’s important for testimonials.

    Reply

    • Souvik Says:

      Yes, you are right, by default currently the quote images are not implemented. However you can try to implement some custom css code to implement quote image. You can add your custom css code on the following:

      #rsmsc_scroller { YOUR CODE }

      or

      .rsmsc_scroller_class { YOUR CODE }

      Reply

      • Umed Says:

        Is it possible to do it not by adding images, but using quote characters? I mean when you do php SQL query, add quotes before and after testimonials?

        Reply

      • Umed Says:

        For Example you already did it here adding “…” after testimonials:

        if($char_RSMSC > 0) {
        $testi_text .= substr($testi_RSMSC[$im]['comment'], 0, ($char_RSMSC-3)).’…’;
        } else {
        $testi_text .= $testi_RSMSC[$im]['comment'];

    Is that possible in this version, if yes how do i do that??

      For this at first you need to set the collation of the database table “#__rsmonials” to ” Indic_General_90_CI_AS (Unicode only)”. Then try to add your testimonials in Gujarati.

    Also, when setting the testimonials to alert the admin, no email comes through. I only see a place to add the admin name and email. Please advise if I am missing something.

    My Recaptcha graphic (the one that shows people what they are to enter) appears at the top of my page rather than at the bottom of my testimonial submission form. I have the testimonial submission form to be the last item on the page, so the ReCaptcha should follow that. It is currently turned off because I’m also getting the mysterious failure to specify an index page – router.php error and have written the support team about that.

    For this question, how can I manage where the ReCaptcha window appears on my page? I would like it to be after the Testimonial Submission Form at page end.

    On all parts of the component, I continue to have “Strict Standards” errors, and have already disabled display_errors and set error_reporting to E_ALL & ~E_STRICT. The settings are seen effective in Joomla’s PHP Information page.

    Any suggestions? Out of *all* testimonials components/modules, I absolutely love the look of yours the best and would appreciate the opportunity to test it out. Thank you so much!

      You need to change the collation of the database table so it can store Russian characters. Database table called “#__rsmonials”. Here #__ can be any value. Edit the properties of the table and set the “Collation” properly.

      You need to change the “Collation” of the database table. Please go to your server’s database manager section and then go to the database where Joomla is installed. Here you can find one database table called “#__rsmonials”. Here #__ can be any value. Then edit that table properties and set the “Collation” properly.

    Hi,

    Great component, I just have a few issues.

    - The module scroller, doesn’t have any space between the testimonials that scroll. So for example, right below the date field in a testimonial when it begins to scroll up, the text for the next testimonial starts on the line right below the text of the previous one which gives the illusion that the two testimonials are part of the same record until the testimonial stops scrolling to view.

    - second, how do you change the text that is displayed in the testimonail? (Date of Post:) I’d like to change that to just Date.

    - third, I turned on the rounded corners feature but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve viewing in FF.

    thanks.

    • Souvik Says:

      1) Try to increase the height of the scroller a bit. This may solve the issue.

      2) Go to “Joomla Admin Panel” => “Components” => “RSMonials” => “Language File”. Then edit the respective language file as per your needs.

      3) For this you need to provide us the URL of your website so we can review it.

      The module will display one single testimonial at a time. But it will display all of your specified testimonials serially or randomly one after one after each page refresh.

      If you need to display more than one testimonial at a time then use “RSMonials Scroller” module.

    Hi,

    I love the concept of the extension and it is really funny that I am just now finding it. It is highly configurable and that is great too.

    I do not see a way to categorize testimonials. There are many situations where it would be nice to separate testimonials by products, offices, people, etc.

    Are you willing to customize if for us? For general release? Please consider it.

      Also thanks for your recommendation. We will surely try to implement this in our next version.

    Hi! First off, I would like to congratulate you for a really great product! RSMonials surely covers almost everything I need for a testimonial! Congratulations to the developer. I only have one issue though. As I mentioned earlier, RSMonials covers ‘almost’ everything I need. I think what is missing is for the testimonial to be ‘responsive’, that is, to be perfectly viewable on smartphones and iDevices. I tested the RSMonials I installed on http://mattkersley.com/responsive/ and found that the component overlaps the RSMonials module. The component also is not able to display the testimonial message if viewed in a smartphone or an iphone. I hope RSMonials developers would do something about this since the future of the web is leaning towards responsive websites and pretty soon, it may become the ‘web standard’. To see what I mean please try viewing http://www.rswebsols.com/demo/rsmonials at the field provided at http://mattkersley.com/responsive/ or any responsive website testing URLs and you will surely see what I mean. I really do hope you can do something about this. Thank you very much for reading through my post. :)

    Regards,

    Janmeir

      Yes, you need to just uninstall the old one and install the new one. You will not loose any testimonials. But the component settings will lost. You need to make the changes in the settings manually again.

      Just go to “Joomla Admin” => “Components” => “RSMonials” => “Language File”. Then edit the respective language file as per your needs.

      There is a little update in the new version. Now this option you can get in time of adding the menu item. Just add your menu item and you can see one parameter for this.

    I have just installed RS-Monial Component and RS-MonialScroller module on my website. Both of these are great extensions and I was up and running in less than five minutes. However, I am facing one issue with RS-MonialScroller module. It displays “undefined” below the testimonial I have received from my clients. Please guide me to solve this issue.

    Thanks,

      Hi Sanjeev,

      As the scroller module is designed to display more than one testimonials, just add more than one testimonials and the module will work perfectly.
